In a camp at Jalalabad Park Muzaffarabad, Saira Kazmi, along with her friends managed to establish the First Step School with an enrolment of over 100 students.

Since November 2005, DMC is supporting this school in collaboration with philanthropists that include Dr. Moeen Masood, Neurologist and President Abbottonians Old Boys Association  North American Chapter, USA and Mr. Rizwan Jabir, Pediatrician from Minnesota are sponsoring the salaries of 8 staff members along with transport and stationery items for the school.Various functions have been held at the school like Pakistan Day celebrations, Eid shows, and Parents' Day. Al-Imtiaz Academy, Abbottabad donated computer, printer, and library books to the school and conducted workshops on different teaching methods.

In March 2007, the Prime Minister Mr. Shaukat Aziz, along with President and Prime Minister of Azad Jammu & Kashmir visited FSS and highly appreciated the efforts of Saira Kazmi and her staff.

A purpose built building has been constructed that is sponsored by Mr. Adam Hasan and family along with Mr. & Mrs. Asif from UAE, Islamic Shool of Miami Folorada USA and Associaction of Pakistani Physicians of New England USA.
