As a consequence of the catastrophe of 8O5 thousands of people have lost the sources of income and the parents were facing a lot of problems regarding the payment of educational expenses of their children. DMC optimistically retorted to the misery call from the medical students of Ayub Medical College for financial assistance to continue their studies. DMC started a campaign and managed to provide Scholarships to the deserving students from earthquake hit areas.

In Year 2006, 57 Students form Ayub Medical College belonging to AJK, Balakot, Mansehra, Batagram, Batal, Shinkiyari, Abbottabad were provided with scholarship to continue their education in Ayub Medical College, Abbottabad. This was sponsored by Association of Pakistani Physicians of New England, USA. Under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Naheed Usmani, President, Association of Pakistani Physicians of New England, USA  started a campaign and managed to collect One Million Rupees for the Scholarships that was awarded to earthquake affected medical students mainly from the areas as mentioned above.

Scholarships Year 2006

A committee comprising of Prof. Aziz Awan, Chairman AMA, Mr. Shahid Janjua, Abbottonians Old Boys Association, NWFP Chapter and Dr. Noaman Siddiqui, Secretary General, AMA conducted interviews of about 65 medical students out of which 58 qualified for the scholarship.Rs.888292 was distributed amongst the earthquake affected students of Ayub Medical College Abbottabad. Scholarship Distribution Ceremony was held at the conference room of Ayub Medical College Abbottabad on 24th June 2006. Dr. Nadeem Afridi, Prof. Aziz Awan, Chairman Abbottonians Medical Association (AMA), Mr. Shahid Janjua, President Abbottonians Old Boys Association, NWFP Chapter and Dr. Noaman Siddiqui, Secretary General, AMA, were present in the ceremony and Prof. Muhammad Ayub, Principal Ayub Medical College was the chief guest.

Again in 2009 Disaster Management Center provided the students of Ayub Medical College Abbottabad with scholarships as Association of Pakistani Physicians of New England was able to spend again for the assistance of  deserving students in continuing their studies belonging to the earthquake hit areas. The Staff of Disaster Management Center issued scholarship forms to the students collected and managed the record then Advisory Committee conducted interviews of the selected candidate .This time 60 Students were awarded scholarships worth rupees 755,400/- in a distribution ceremony held at conference room of Ayub Medical College Abbottabad, on February the 2^nd 2009.The principal Ayub Medical College was the chief guest.
